SMS / Text Messaging Terms

1. Program Description
Martejo Enterprise Inc., d/b/a Martejo Discount ("Martejo") offers an optional SMS/text messaging program that provides customers with transactional and informational messages related to their account activity on app.martejo.com. Message types include:
- Auction Notifications: Bid confirmations, outbid alerts, auction win notifications, and auction ending reminders.
- Order & Payment Updates: Purchase confirmations, payment receipts, invoice reminders, and payment-due notices.
- Pickup & Appointment Reminders: Scheduled pickup confirmations, appointment reminders, and forfeiture warnings.
- Account Alerts: Account verification, password reset codes, and security notifications.
- Promotional Messages: New inventory alerts, sale announcements, and special offers (only if you separately opt in to promotional messages).
2. Consent & Opt-In
By providing your mobile phone number and checking the SMS consent box during account registration or account settings, you expressly consent to receive text messages from Martejo at the phone number you provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You may use our services without opting in to text messages.
You may separately opt in to receive promotional text messages. Promotional messages are never sent unless you have given explicit, separate consent for that category.
By opting in, you confirm that you are the owner or authorized user of the mobile device and phone number provided, and that you are authorized to agree to receive text messages at that number.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your activity. For example:
- Active bidders may receive multiple messages per auction day (bid confirmations, outbid alerts).
- Buyers typically receive 2–5 messages per transaction (win notification, invoice, payment confirmation, pickup reminder).
- Promotional messages, if opted in, are limited to no more than 4 messages per month.
You will never receive more messages than are reasonably necessary for the services you use.
4. Message & Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Text messaging charges from your wireless carrier may apply to messages you send to us and messages we send to you. Martejo is not responsible for any fees charged by your wireless carrier. Please contact your carrier for details about your text messaging plan.
5. How to Opt Out (STOP)
You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any text message you receive from Martejo.
- Updating your notification preferences in your account settings at app.martejo.com.
- Contacting us directly (see Contact section below).
After you send STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message. You will no longer receive text messages from Martejo unless you re-enroll. Opting out of SMS does not affect your account or ability to use our services — you will continue to receive important notifications via email.

7. Supported Carriers
Our SMS program is supported on all major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. Privacy
Your phone number and messaging data are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or opt-in data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your information is shared only with our messaging service provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of delivering text messages on our behalf.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other use of your information is subject to our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued participation in the SMS program after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
